From the moment I felt called to work with the deaf children and young people of Honduras, God put a love and a burden in my heart to help them as much as possible so they could become productive members of society. Looking back to the beginnings, this seems an impossible task, as all I could see was a group of young people unable to communicate with their parents, friends, and society. They had no skills, no way of communicating with the world around them and very few friends. However, what seemed impossible for men was possible with God.
The school for the deaf was started with 35 young people eager to learn vocations. They spent hours learning sign language as they had no language at all. We had to incorporate the American Sign Language as well as the sign language from other Spanish Speaking countries. However, we were successful in giving them a way to communicate. Little by little the work we were doing with the deaf began to change the way society saw them and more and more people got involved in learning sign language as well as helping the students and school in other ways. After more than twenty years of this labor of love, the education to the deaf has taken a turn. Now there is a sign language class offered at the University of Tegucigalpa. There is a recognized and very active association for the deaf in Honduras. There is also a Honduran Sign Language and a signing book, published by the Association for the Deaf.
His Love in Action Ministry has been a pioneer in the education of the deaf in Honduras and we are so thankful to those people who helped us throughout the years with their financial contributions and volunteer work. Without them, we would not have been able to accomplish so much and continue our work with these precious children and young people.
We continue to depend on the financial support and volunteer work of friends throughout the world in order to provide academic and vocational education to our students as well as give them a meal a day and all the materials they need in their classes. Your support to these precious young people is greatly appreciated.
Serving a Mighty God!

Mission Trips
If you want to have a life changing experience visiting another country, consider going with us to Tegucigalpa, Honduras and getting involved in the lives of our deaf students, by working in the vocational classes, or teaching drama, art class, or exercising any other gift you might have. We also encourage those who are gifted in construction to help us build our new school facility. As soon as we have sufficient funds to start the first phase of our construction project, we will need many volunteers to travel with us and experience how the other side of the world lives. Your participation in our school projects and the lives of our students will not only change them, but will also change you! You will never be the same after visiting our school! The love of our students and staff will touch your heart!
